Privacy

The short version: this site does not track you, does not set cookies, and does not have anything to sell. The longer version is below, and it is genuinely short too.

The short version

Three things worth knowing

We built this site to be useful, not to learn things about the people who read it.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, and no third-party scripts of any kind. We do not know who visits, and we have not built any way to find out.

No cookies

This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser storage. That is why you will never see a cookie banner here.

The form never sends

The contact form does not submit anything to this website. It opens your own email app with the message filled in, and you press send. Nothing is stored here.

In detail

What we collect

Almost nothing. These are plain pages with no database behind them, no accounts, and no payment processing. We kept it that way on purpose: the least risky way to hold someone’s personal information is not to hold it at all.

Three narrow exceptions are worth naming honestly.

The contact form

The form on the contact page looks like an ordinary web form, but it works differently. When you press send, your browser assembles what you typed into a new email and hands it to your own mail app or webmail. Nothing travels to this website, and nothing is written down here. If your mail app does not open, the page offers you the same message as plain text to copy. Until you actually send that email, only you have seen what you wrote.

Email you send us

Once you do send it, we receive whatever you chose to put in the message and the address you sent it from. We use it to reply and to arrange whatever you wrote about: a meal, a volunteer shift, a partnership. We keep the correspondence in our email account for as long as it is useful, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

We do not add anyone to a mailing list without being asked, and we do not sell, rent, trade, or share your contact details with anyone. There is no marketing automation behind this site and no plan to add any.

Server logs

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and like every web host GitHub keeps standard technical logs: the IP address of the device requesting a page, the time, the page requested, and the browser used. Those logs exist to serve the site and to spot abuse. We do not read them to build profiles, we do not combine them with anything else, and we cannot connect them to you.

Fonts, photos, and everything else

Every font, photo, and script this site needs is served from this site itself. Nothing loads from an outside content network, so simply reading these pages does not report your visit to any third party.

Links that leave this site

Our email buttons can open Gmail or Outlook, and the footer links to our Instagram. Once you follow a link away from here you are on someone else’s service, under their privacy policy rather than ours.

Children

Our programs serve families and students, but this website is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, of any age. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before emailing us.

Your choices

Because we hold so little, most privacy requests are simple. Write to us and we will tell you exactly what we have that relates to you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. We will not charge you or ask you to justify it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add a newsletter, a real server-side form, or a way to donate online, the data we handle will change, and this page will be rewritten before that goes live with the date below updated. We will not quietly start collecting more than this page describes.

Questions

Privacy questions go to the same inbox as everything else, and a person reads them: catherineqqliu15@gmail.com

Quick answers

Why is there no cookie banner?
Because there are no cookies to consent to. Banners exist to ask permission for tracking, and there is none here.
Do you know how many people visit the site?
No. We have no analytics installed, so we genuinely cannot tell you. We would rather know that than know your browsing.
I filled in the form but changed my mind. Did you get it?
No. The form only opens a draft in your own email app. If you never pressed send in that app, the message never left your device and we never saw it.
Can you delete an email I sent you?
Yes. Ask, and we will delete it from our inbox. You do not need to give a reason.
